WYS Code of Conduct

Post by Jess on Sun Jan 25, 2015 3:26 pm

What's Your Story Rules

Site

>All users should be treated with respect at all times. There will be absolutely no toleration of any users flaming another user, trolling, or ranting about another user. If you have a problem with someone, you have every right to leave or grow a pair and ignore them.

>Anyone who posts any pornographic content will be banned forever, no questions asked. This includes images, erotica, and videos. This also goes for disturbing and disgusting images. While you might think it's absolutely hilarious, because you're just so mature, we find it mentally scarring.

>Cursing is allowed, however, please keep it as minimal as possible. Nobody wants to see the eff bomb all over this forum. Use common sense when using swear words. It would be a lot more understandable for someone to curse during a rant rather than during a forum word game.

>All decisions made by the Staff should be respected. If you have questions about why we made a decision, please PM us, and we'll do our best to explain. But please do not message us if you are looking for an argument or wanting to rant to us about why "we're wrong". All Staff decisions are made in light of the benefit of the forum.
This goes for the deletion, editing, moving, locking, unlocking, and any modification of the posts or the forum. Feel free to give us suggestions and share your respectful opinion, as we are all humans and we do make mistakes.

Forum

> Swearing is allowed throughout the forum unless a creator of a RP specifically states that cursing is not allowed on their roleplay. However, this does not mean that excessive cursing is permitted; keep in mind that there could be young kids who don't need to see you dropping the f-bomb in every sentence.

> Refrain from using blue or red when typing. These colors are reserved for moderators and administrators, respectively.

> Romance and gore are allowed in roleplays, unless specifically stated otherwise by the creator.

> Before posting to a roleplay, check out the roleplay rules.

Chatbox

> Spamming- Spamming is by all means not allowed when using the chatbox. If you spam, you will recieve one warning. If you proceed to continue to spam, you will not be able to use the chatbox for one day.

> Private information- This rule applies to all areas of the forum; don't disclose your personal information (such as your address or phone number). If you want to exchange phone numbers, etc with another member of the forum, do so through PM.

BANNING

A member will only be banned immediately if we feel what they've done is extreme enough to deserve banning. Past forums have failed, due to the fact that we let too many members get away with breaking the rules. When a site is run by all its members, it will burn down in flames. That's simply because everyone has different views, opinions, and standards for a website. Some people will want no cursing to be allowed, others will want to drop f-bombs after every other words. Someone will want the site to be colored green, and someone else will want it to be colored gray. It's just the way we are.
So, while we do believe in having fun and being yourself, we will still be enforcing the rules when need be. It's basically three strikes and you're out.

After breaking the rules once, you will get a warning
Twice, you will be banned anywhere from a week to a month.
Third time, you will be banned indefinitely, which will most likely be forever.
*please note that these are subject to change depending on the rules broken and how bad the crime was.

Shouldn't there be warnings let out if you are purposely threatening others and impersonating an administrator or a moderator? I think at least for the threats a warning should be let out. But if the other person fight back or argues with the administrator or moderator, shouldn't that user at least be notified of what they are doing wrong.

I am trying to make as much sense as possible. I'm sorry if you didn't understand. If needed to be elaborated, please let me know in PM.

I didn't write these rules, but I think that threatening pretty much falls under the "respect everyone" rule. I'm not sure if Jess, the owner, comes on this site anymore, but if she does I'll let her know about your suggestions; I don't think I'm allowed to edit the rules. There's not really a way to impersonate mods and admins, though, because they have their own specific color + rank. Thanks for your suggestions, and you definitely weren't rude at all!
